The carbureted 302ci V8 engine was rated at 133 hp, and is backed by a 3-speed automatic transmission.
The A/C is said to blow cold and all interior equipment except for the clock are said to function. An aftermarket radio, rear speakers, and high-mount brake light have been installed, and are said to be the only modifications. Light staining and discoloration can be seen throughout on the carpet and upholstered surfaces, and the seller notes one prominent stain in the center of the rear bench. This car is optioned with the Interior Decor group, which includes Chamois cloth split bench front seats with patterned velour inserts, wood-patterned accents, and patterned vinyl door cards. Some pitting can be seen in the chrome and the front bumper is bent on the driver’s side.
Steel wheels wear stainless hubcaps and Goodyear Alegra radial tires. The vinyl Landau roof has a somewhat aged appearance but the seller notes that there is no bubbling under the fabric. The Light Chamois (83) paint is believed to be original, and shows some age with touch-ups visible on some lower panel edges.
1979 THUNDERBIRD MANUALS
This 1979 Ford Thunderbird is sold with factory manuals and a clean Massachusetts title. Within the past month, the car has received an inspection and oil service. Little of the vehicle’s history is known, but the seller states the car was sold new in Ohio and brought to Massachussetts by the prior owner in 2015 showing 28k miles at the time. The car is said to be unmodified and unrestored, and has been driven 200 miles since the selling dealer’s purchase one month ago.
